Moving/Changing

Just wanted to let anyone who follows this blog know, that my crafts and things blog can be found at http://speakinupnow.blogspot.com. I'm turning this particular blog into a dream journal of sorts, and will be deleting the former posts sometime in the coming weeks.

Start All Over

I've abandoned this blog for quite some time, haven't I? I will try to be more prompt with regular updates in the future. You can think of this as a new start for the blog, as my goal is to remember to update at least once every month. Hopefully, I won't feel so rushed to finish my cross-stitches but it will still motivate and inspire me to complete what I've started.

The past couple of months (or since I last updated), I haven't done a whole lot of cross-stitching. I've been in some sort of weird slump where I haven't had the motivation to work on my projects, though I've had plenty of time. This past week or two, I have come out of that slump, thankfully. I suspect it has something to do with receiving the Sims 3, which my (awesome) daddy got for me the weekend it came out! I have been making a little progress working on various projects while I wait for my Sims family to finish sleeping or working, although it's not much. I'll post pics of my latest projects, soon, right now I'm going to go play Sims 3 and work on my ballet piece (since it's become a UFO, and I really want to finish it as of late!)

Update on Progress

Well, it's finally finished. Now all that's left to do is find the perfect frame for it. (I know in the photo it looks as if I've got a teeny bit left, but I've finished that bit. I just didn't take a picture of it.) When I first started the piece I was thinking of using a black frame, but now I'm not so sure. I think I may take it into Michael's and look at different colored frames and see what sparks my fancy.

Anyway, now that this is done I have started working on my "Ballet" piece that I won off of Ebay. I don't have any pictures of it's current progress, but I have finished working with almost half of the colored threads, yay! I'll be sure to post a picture real soon. I've also decided that I am just going to completely start over with the Majestic Eagle AGAIN, and this time I will be attempting gridding. It's the first time I'll be doing gridding though, so if you've got any advice to tips on gridding please share!!

Fire Fighter Sampler

As you can see, it's not completely finished but it is getting there. I've finished most of the inner pictures and those should all be done by the end of the day today. That just leaves me with the wording within the borders tomorrow. XD

Update

I know, I know. It's been awhile since my last post. Unfortunately, I don't really have any new pictures to share with you of my current progress on the pieces I'm presently stitching. What I do I have, however, is some news about the crazy stuff that's been going on since my last post, and it may give you some idea as to why it's been so long since my last post.

First off..I wasn't able to post because my blog was mistakenly marked as spam and thus the Blogger blocked any more postings. I got that all straightened out pretty quickly though, and as you can see I am able to post once more. :D

In other news...I've got less hours at work this month which means more time for cross-stitch. (It does also mean less money which is frustrating.) I also won and received an old Dimensions kit off of Ebay which I am eager to begin. I've decided I will wait until I finish at least one of my other projects first though. The kit is called 'The Ballet' and I believe it is now out of print, but I suppose I could be mistaken. Ebay seems to be the only place it can be found anymore and I think I took the last one. Sorry...sort of. :D

My dad's 'Fireman Sampler' is looking quite lovely. It is nearly finished which is very exciting. I think I may have it done by Saturday; Monday at the latest. That also means I will be able to start my new Dimensions "Ballet" kit! XD

I'll post some pictures later tonight, though it may be later this weekend. Sorry for the delay in postings!

Majestic Eagle

Well, I still haven't been able to get on a computer and upload pictures of my progress on various pieces but I have made some progress on the 'Majestic Eagle'. Here is a link to what it should look like when finished. So far I've got the start of both wings finished, and am progressing quite nicely on the black thread. I'm focusing on completing the eagle first, and then the background, since it's more fun to me that way. I hope I can put up some pictures soon; I may set an alarm and sneak onto the other computer (which has my photos) while everyone's sleeping so I can let you all see what my pieces are looking like.

I Apologize

I have taken pictures of my progress on each piece I'm currently working on, however, my computer does not seem to be reading my SD card for some reason. I don't have another computer to try and upload the pictures on until Monday. I apologize for the delay!! I really did intend to post the pictures and information today since I've nothing else to do but cross-stitch and everyone knows we have to take breaks from it every once in a while or we'll go crazy!!
